What is the Electrical Planning Report?
A new regulation, OIC 671-23, effective December 6, 2023, mandates that strata corporations with five or more strata lots must obtain an electrical planning report by specific deadlines:
By December 31, 2026: Strata corporations in Metro Vancouver Regional District, Fraser Valley Regional District, and Capital Regional District (excluding Gulf Islands).
By December 31, 2028: Strata corporations in other areas of British Columbia.
New strata corporations have a five-year window from the deposit of the strata plan to comply.
